Santa Maria Yuconicoco a small traditional village with a traditional huipil. This village is located near the trique villages and is one of the last Mixtec Alta villages to still weave the huipil. Bob Freund8/18/2004 for more information please contact : info@mexicantextiles.com |

The huipil from Yuconicoco is back strap woven three panels. There are long and short versions. I believe that the long version is not common in general use. |
The town is in close proximity to Trique villages and there is some simalarity in design. I have tried about ten years ago to get into the village but at that time the road was washed out. |
